What size poster and frame should I buy?
This question appears in our heads very often. It happens that we have a frame at home and we want to buy a poster for it, or we have already bought a poster but do not have a frame. Then the problem arises what size of poster or frame we should buy. It all depends on the effect we want to achieve and the space we have for our wall decoration.
Because we know how difficult it can be to choose the right size on your own, we have created an extremely simple and intuitive guide to the sizes of posters and frames available in our online store. Our guide has been specially adapted to the sizes of posters and frames available in our store and frames available in the IKEA chain of stores throughout Europe. The frame dimensions below may not be relevant to frame sizes from other manufacturers.
Each frame purchased in our store comes with a passepartout, which can be easily removed and transformed into a frame without a passepartout. You can use the passepartout according to your preferences and needs, thus deciding on the size of the poster in the frame.
Remember that the final size of the decoration depends on the thickness of the frame. Most often it is about 2-3 cm larger than the size of the purchased poster.
I want a poster and a frame with a passepartout
If you want to frame your purchased poster in a frame with a passepartout, buy a frame one size larger than the poster. The poster must be one size smaller so that the passepartout window does not cover the poster design.

If you want to frame your purchased poster in a frame without a passepartout, buy a window-sized frame exactly the same size as the poster. When choosing a frame in our store, select the frame size from the list that is the same as your poster.
