Personally, I feel at home in IKEA. Not because my apartment has the same finish, but because the items found there simply resonate with my minimalist taste. Of course, not everything suits me 100%, but the functionality of some solutions is incredibly inspiring. IKEA excels in organizing small spaces. Although the average size of an apartment in Poland in 2016 was 77.2 m2, which is not a tiny space, the ingenuity of IKEA's solutions never ceases to amaze me.

As I am particularly fond of wall decorations, that's where I spend most of my time, especially in the interior decoration department. Specifically for you, I did a little reconnaissance on the novelties that can be found in this department in late April and May.

It's worth noting that IKEA often releases limited collections. This was the case with the HJÄRTELIG collection, which encouraged us to pause, soothe our souls and senses through meditation and yoga. The collection was co-created by, among others, Polish designer Maja Ganszyniec and, as befits a limited edition, was available for only 9 weeks. In some IKEA stores, there might still be individual pieces of accessories designed by Maja.

Another noteworthy collection is the upcoming SPÄNST collection for May 2018, which will surely appeal to those who like functional minimalism and an urban street style. It is also created in collaboration with Maja Ganszyniec and, like the HJÄRTELIG collection, is planned for only 9 weeks.

For the first time in IKEA's history, this collection will feature a skateboard and a basketball hoop with a ball in an elegant black color! Black dominates this collection. There's nothing here in any other color but black, white, and gray. This collection will appeal especially to those who like unconventional forms and are ready to showcase their closet interior. This is because the collection includes completely transparent shoe boxes and a wardrobe with doors made of fabric mesh.
